Today is my birthday and I got a new crochet hook that I’m really excited about!
It is a Furls Gold Streamline Metal Crochet Hook in the size 8mm (M). It has a nice weight and feels great to hold in my hand. I can’t wait to crochet with it.
This is a special gift because the person who gave it to me knows I’m working on a big project that I had to buy a new hook for because I didn’t have one the right size. The hook I bought was plastic and was already cracking from how much I’ve used it. Honestly, I’m probably crocheting too tight, but now I have a solid metal ergonomic hook!
The project I’m working on is for my little sister. She is commissioning me to make 7 of these Mega Fish Pillow Crochet Pattern – No-Sew, one in every color. I purchased the pattern from CuddleRooShop on Etsy. It is a really easy pattern to follow, if you crochet, I recommend buying patterns from them.
The first fish I finished (minus the eyes and mouth) was the pink one. I stayed up late to finish it, which is why I look tired in this photo. Haha! I did not have the darker shade of pink to make the eyes and mouth yet, but I was really excited to take pictures, so that’s why they are missing in these photos.
After pink, it was on to yellow. I decided to take a picture after every row and make a gif to show the progress.
Isn’t that fun? Now that pink and yellow are done (mostly), I have red, orange, green, blue, and purple left to make. I can’t wait to see all the fishies together when they are all done and leave a review for CuddleRooShop so they can see their pattern put to use.
